Complex Movements exhibited interactive, performance-based installation “Three Phases” at SiTE:LAB during ArtPrize 2012, for which we were presented the $20,000 Time/Performance Juried Award.

Employing the concept of a lenticular print, where an observer sees different images depending on his or her angle of view, we designed, built, and implemented a projection mapped “Lenticular Wall”. We heavily modified an area of SiTE:LAB, tearing down walls and erecting new ones, converting the cavity behind our “Lenticular Wall” into a small, high tech control room. Using two projectors, we cast a live music performance and real-time generated visualizations onto the Lenticular, bringing it to life. True to the wall’s namesake, the experience was entirely unique to each audience member’s points of view.

Participants also interacted with the installation via an 8 foot tall "Music Box", built in collaboration with engineer AJ Manoulian and designer Brian DuBois. Five pressure sensitive pads wirelessly trigger the music box to play parts from Complex Movements’s songs; when all five pads are simultaneously depressed, the full songs are played.
